Integrate field service bookings with Outlook and Teams

Writing on the Dynamics 365 Field Service Blog, Jason Shotts noted that Microsoft is making it easier for technicians to manage their schedules by adding a new Exchange integration feature to Dynamics 365 Field Service.

Shotts noted that this update automatically syncs work order bookings with Outlook and Teams calendars, so technicians can see everything from job assignments to personal appointments and meetings all in one place.

According to Shotts, here's how it works:

  • Work orders created in D365 Field Service will show up directly in the technician's Outlook and Teams calendars.
  • The sync is one-way – from D365 Field Service to Exchange.
  • It's fast, updating calendars in 15 minutes or less.
  • Technicians don't have to jump between different apps to keep track of their day because it's all in one view.

Shotts then discussed the key benefits of integrating field service bookings with Outlook and Teams and explained how to get started.
