TrueCommerce's Certified Dynamics NAV EDI Solution: Deep Integration Without Customization, Says Company

TrueCommerce, global provider of trading partner connectivity and integration solutions and a HighJump company, has announced the availability of its EDI solution for Microsoft Dynamics NAV in both the North American and European markets.

The new offering connects TrueCommerce's global commerce network to Microsoft Dynamics NAV, a global enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution. TrueCommerce integrates EDI workflows for order-to-cash, procure to pay and logistics processes into NAV while managing trading partner connectivity and unique mapping requirements in TrueCommerce's global commerce network.

HighJump TrueCommerce VP of Product Strategy Mike Gross offered some details, history and practicalities.

He says, describing development of the solution, "A key distinction is TrueCommerce's NAV offering was designed to extend NAV versus customize NAV. We followed this approach so that we could offer a deep level of integration without heavily modifying NAV which dramatically complicates upgrading NAV and often islands NAV users on older versions. Our NAV customers and partners value this approach because it simplifies upgrades and allows our customers to take advantage of the continued innovation in NAV."

The offering was designed as an embedded solution in NAV that is coded in C/AL, the native programming language of Dynamics NAV. It is positioned to make the most of NAV Extensions, says the company, which is a benefit to users running an on-premise version, but also running NAV in a multi-tenant environment.
