Singh Steps Into Microsoft Dynamics CRM Leadership Role, Stutz Heads to Salesforce
Rumors have swirled since last night about where former Microsoft Dynamics CRM corporate vice president Bob Stutz would be going after leaving Microsoft. Now reports seem to confirm that he will be joining Microsoft rival and partner Salesforce.com as its chief analytics officer.
Re/code reported the new role, and quoted Salesforce president of products Alex Dayon as saying "Bob not only has deep enterprise software experience, he's also a proven leader who'll drive the vision and execution for the Analytics Cloud as we build it into a billion-dollar business for Salesforce."
Presumably this is what Stutz meant by "I will be back" after taking a break. Rumors that Stutz had a specific plan for his next role, and that it was Salesforce, had taken on a few flavors in the last 24 hours. One source tells us there had been disagreements between Stutz and previous MBS chief Kirill Tatarinov and with current Cloud and Enterprise leader Scott Guthrie. It was also reported that Stutz and Salesforce first began talking around the time Microsoft and Salesforce began their negotiations over a possible acquisition.
Dynamics CRM will now be led by Stutz's long time R&D chief, Jujhar Singh, who made his first appearance in the new role at the Dynamics CRM partner-focused ExtremeCRM event today.
