Microsoft Social Listening now rolling out to Dynamics CRM Online customers

For Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online customers, the wait for Microsoft Social Listening will soon be over. The CRM Online team announced it is in the process of adding Social Listening to eligible customers. Microsoft expects to complete the process by the end of August.

Microsoft Social Listening

CRM Online Professional customers (the $65 per user per month level) with ten or more users will have access to Social Listening for no extra charge, though there is a quota of 10,000 posts per month and usage fees above that. Here's how Microsoft defines a "post":

A "post" is any tweet, Facebook post, blog post, and so on that contains the keywords or phrases you configure the system to search for. For example, if you define a search topic to look for the keyword "Contoso", every post that contains "Contoso" counts towards that month's quota.

Microsoft also advised that there may be an issue with the provisioning status displaying for longer than intended on the Service Health Dashboard in the Microsoft Online Portal.

Social Listening will be getting at least two more quarterly updates in calendar year 2014, Microsoft told partners at WPC 2014. One area of improvement will be improved tracking of time of day and geography to understand emerging trends in social activity. They are also looking at adding widgets that add more social listening analytics on Dynamics CRM pages.
