Microsoft plans Social Listening integration with Dynamics NAV 2015 Cumulative Update 3

Microsoft Social Listening for Dynamics NAV 2015 CU3 

Microsoft Social Listening (MSL) has largely been associated with sales, marketing, and customer service use cases since its acquisition in 2013. But the Dynamics NAV team has unveiled its own integration plans for MSL, coming in NAV 2015 Cumulative Update 3. The integration will allow Dynamics NAV users to set up and embed monitoring of social sentiment for items, customers, and vendors.

In it, Microsoft MVP Vjekoslav Babic explains the basic steps of enabling Social Listening for NAV - setting up an account, integrating the service, and building search topics that can be tied to NAV entities.

The end result of the demo is a select set of items that are associated with MSL searches. The same approach could allow users to monitor social sentiment on their customers or vendors.

Microsoft MVPs Soren Klemmensen and Aleksandar Totovic both called out the new integration on their blogs. Totovic notes that MSL integration was previously planned for the next major release, NAV "Corfu", but it appears to have been bumped up to NAV 2015 CU3.
