Microsoft plans more Copilot features in 2023 release wave 2 plans for Dynamics 365 and Power Platform

The next round of updates and enhancements to Dynamics 365 apps and Power Platform services have been revealed by Microsoft, with 2023 Release Wave 2 now available to review. As always, the list of plans is too broad to easily sum up briefly. And we can assume that Microsoft will hold back on revealing some plans until late opportunity for greater impact.

"New capabilities empower new ways to make informed decisions with AI-guided insights and suggested actions, easier ways to automate tasks and processes, and collaboration seamlessly integrated into the flow of work, plus, new low-code ways for anyone to build solutions," wrote Microsoft CVP and Business Applications COO Mo Osborne in announcing the release wave plans. Osborne explained that the details of the release plans can be found on the Release Planner site. (And don't forget to set the filters on the site to select only "2023 release wave 2" to see just the new plans.)

Microsoft has also produced new highlight videos to feature updates coming to both Dynamics 365 apps and Power Platform. Here are a few of the notable updates:

  • Copilot for D365 Customer Insights will add the ability to help users analyze customer data quality, offer predictions on contact preferences, and build marketing segments. A user can tell Copilot a marketing goal, and the service will create a customer journey and suggest content topics for engaging with the marketing segment. Copilot can also generate email text and graphical and branding suggestions.
