Amplify: GPUG Organizes New Microsoft-Led Dynamics GP Event for End Users

by Dann Anthony Maurno
Assistant Editor, MSDW

Microsoft Dynamics GP users felt abandoned by Microsoft's shift from Convergence to Envision as its mainline event in 2016. Gone are the direct access to Microsoft and utilitarian sessions. In its place, Envision offers "State of the Industry" content, delivered by Microsoft execs and subject matter experts.

The launch of the new Amplify event, put on jointly by Microsoft and GPUG in Anaheim, California, May 23-26 seeks to fulfill the GP community's loss of Convergence.

As Pam Misialek, a Dynamics GP marketing manager described, "We have listened to our existing Dynamics GP community and are delighted to support [GPUG] to create an existing customer event that has Microsoft lead content."

As GPUG describes the event on the Amplify site:

Amplify hosted by GPUG will offer a Convergence-like line-up [italics ours] of educational sessions including a deep-dive into Dynamics GP 2016, led by the Microsoft GP team. End-users attending Amplify will discover the latest solution innovations and new product updates, and will have the opportunity to connect with the Microsoft team to learn about product roadmaps and the future direction of the Dynamics GP product.

GPUG also writes that Amplify will facilitate the direct dialog between end-users and Microsoft for advocacy and influence on the future direction of Microsoft, Partners, and the Dynamics GP ecosystem as a whole.

Janet Lampert, president and COO of Dynamic Communities, says that Amplify was driven by demand from Dynamics GP end-users after the announcement of the transition from Convergence to Envision.
