Tracking Dynamics 365 Business Central manufacturing trends: New survey follows up on 2020 findings

A survey from late 2020 indicated that a majority of Microsoft Dynamics NAV customers involved in manufacturing expected to be ready to move to Dynamics 365 Business Central by 2022. But Microsoft resellers in the same survey reported that a large portion of deals at that time still involved a non-SaaS (i.e., on-premises or private cloud) Business Central deployment.

Now, sixteen months later, the next iteration of the survey on Business Central and NAV for manufacturing has launched, with the initial results to be revealed to partners at Directions North America 2022 in April.  Run by Netronic, the research aims to answer questions about ERP cloud adoption, customization investments, functional utilization, the size of businesses selecting Business Central, and other topics.

Survey author Martin Karlowitsch, CEO of Netronic, notes that the 2020 survey also gathered data at a unique moment in time, as the world was in the middle of strict COVID-19 lockdowns. Since then, a variety of geopolitical and economic trends have impacted manufacturers, including firms using Business Central.
