Microsoft Copilot Studio now has 73,000 customers, and product leaders expect that recent enhancements to agentic performance, analytics, models, and governance will raise customers expectations around managing agent portfolios.

Copilot Studio CVP Dan Lewis and VP Omar Aftab  presented a vision at Power Platform Community Conference 2025 (#PPCC25) today for how improved capabilities in AI agents will present new opportunities for customers, with examples of areas of improvement in the newest updates.

Updates included improved model reasoning, new maker tools, end-user agent builders embedded in Microsoft 365 Copilot, and stronger governance features. Product highlights for Copilot Studio delivered by the product team at PPCC25 spanned four main areas: Answer quality, evaluation and analytics, model choice, and core administration and governance.

Quality of answers

The Agentic RAG for data in SharePoint is now performing better than the graph connector, and a demonstration compared an agent using the older model with the latest one. Copilot Studio now also supports reasoning over structured data using a code interpreter. And makers have better controls for precise knowledge selection and targeting

Evaluation and analytics

Makers can enable evaluations of their agents with analysis of factors like user themes, multi-agent behavior and evaluation of ROI. Makers can analyze direct user feedback with reactions, explore agent performance, and receive AI summaries of analytics insights, Microsoft said. And makers can use natural language to question and reason over copilot analytics.

Model choice and fine-tuning
