New Tier 1 CSP Finds Value in New Verticals, Support Options, Blended Offerings

CuroGens, Inc. is one of the most recent companies to join the Microsoft Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) program, and CEO Jesper Kehlet is very enthused about the opportunities the program offers. As a Tier 1 CSP, CuroGens provides integrated cloud tools and services for transportation manufacturers, such as Microsoft Dynamics CRM and Azure as well as CuroGens mv360. Like other CSPs we have profiled, CuroGens believes operating as a CSP will improve their competitiveness against such titans as Salesforce.com and SAP. And it further enables them to create tiered support offerings and to venture into new vertical markets.

CuroGens is a systems integrator that serves transportation manufacturers worldwide, and its flagship CuroGens mv360, a Microsoft Dynamics CRM and Azure-powered integrated customer service and dealer portal solution has been designed for OEMs that manufacture configured-to-order units sold and serviced through dealer networks.

As Kehlet describes, CuroGens was invited by Microsoft into the CSP program, and at the Tier 1 level. "Microsoft approached us because we have several ISV solutions. The [Microsoft] cloud team clearly saw with the support needed, that it would complicate things unnecessarily if we had to go through the large account resellers" as a Tier 2 CSP. In those cases, the first level of support is through those resellers, which would have to be trained in CuroGens solutions, and for which Kehlet believes there is little incentive. "So Microsoft said ‘We want you to be a Tier 1 CSP so you can take on the whole lifecycle of the customer and the intense support,' and I thought that's exactly what we should do."
