Microsoft talks up Dynamics CRM strengths for banking sector

At the Sibos global banking event in Boston this week, Microsoft Corp. highlighted leading banking institutions that are choosing their technology solutions, including Dynamics CRM.

According to Microsoft, more global system integrators are building out financial-service-specific solutions on top of Microsoft Dynamics CRM to deliver industry-specific solutions tailored to the needs of banking organizations.

RBS-NatWest is one example of a banking organization that is already using Dynamics CRM to put the customer at the center of its business.

"NatWest Business Banking uses Microsoft Dynamics CRM, providing its employees with a unified and highly detailed customer view," said David Russell, head of CRM services, RBS-NatWest, in a statement. "Microsoft Dynamics CRM unites teams, saves time and helps NatWest make customers happy. With Microsoft Dynamics CRM, RBS-NatWest has achieved more than 95 percent user adoption, better connected teams and more valued customer service."

Part of the Microsoft enterprise strategy for Dynamics CRM includes a redoubled effort to prioritize verticals and micro-verticals for various geographies and to share those decisions with groups that can take action. That includes promoting third-party financial services and Microsoft's own solutions for capital markets, banking and insurance.

In a new whitepaper, "Delivering Amazing Customer Experiences," released this week, Microsoft described five key areas where CRM technology can help financial firms transform from a transaction-centric business to a customer-centric one. These areas include delivering offers that match customers' financial aspirations, improving operational efficiency, and improved responsiveness to industry and regulatory challenges.
