Microsoft is out with its 2021 release wave 2 plan for Dynamics 365. The new set of updates, which covers October 2021 to March 2022, also includes Microsoft's industry clouds for the first time.

As usual, these release wave plans are a lot to take in at once. A separate report on updates to Power Platform has also been released. A quick check of page length shows that the Dynamics 365 2021 release wave 2 PDF document is about twenty pages longer than release wave 1's. Wave 2 replaces a section from wave 1 on "industry accelerators" with the emerging "Microsoft Cloud for Industry" offerings, some of which have features reaching general availability.

Here are a few of the noteworthy updates across the Dynamics 365 product line. There are certain to be more items in the document worth evaluating in the coming days and weeks.

Dynamics 365 Finance

Finance Insights and the Tax Calculation service, a configurable globalization microservice that enhances the tax determination and calculation capabilities, will reach general availability (GA).
