Microsoft enables previews for October 2019 release wave 2 of Dynamics 365 and Power Platform

Microsoft Business Applications customers and partners can begin to  access features from the upcoming October 2019 release wave that covers both Dynamics 365 and the Power Platform.

The early access program to "2019 release wave 2" offers access to 74 features across Dynamics 365 applications (including Dynamics 365 for Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, Field Service, Finance and Operations, and Retail) and the Power Platform (PowerApps, Flow, and Power BI), according to the announcement by Microsoft CVP and Business Applications COO Mo Osborne. Early access is for non-production environments and is offered as a way to learn about and gain experience with the updates.

According to the documentation, the 2019 release wave 2 update has three kinds of updates: to automatic user experience updates, admin-driven updates to user experience, and updates to "admin and maker" features.

Browsing the listed updates, the majority are Power Platform and Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement app updates for end users are enabled automatically and offer incremental improvements to usability or pre-built integrations. One known preview feature, mixed reality Guides for Field Service, must be enabled manually.
