Ignite 2023: Microsoft announces the general availability of Fabric

Microsoft announced the general availability of Microsoft Fabric at its annual Ignite 2023 conference. The data governance tool offers a single capacity pricing model integrated with Power BI, Synapse, and Data Factory.

Microsoft sees Fabric as a way to empower ISVs because it is integrated with Microsoft Intelligent Data Platform, supporting unified data analytics and SaaS implementations.

AI and data capabilities have received significant attention from Microsoft and its channel partners throughout 2023. Marrying some of these capabilities together, Microsoft announced that Copilot is also available in Microsoft Fabric, meaning that customers will be able to have conversational experiences related to data stored and managed in Fabric.

"Microsoft Fabric has caught the imagination of our customers, partners, and community 
members. Since launch, Fabric has grown quickly with over 25,000 organizations around the 
planet using Fabric today," wrote Microsoft CVP for Fabric Arun Ulag in a blog post.
