Business Central Universal Code initiative: are you really so surprised?

Writing on his blog, Stefano Demiliani summarized Microsoft's Business Central Universal code initiative.

Demiliani explained that when you sell what is called "non-universal code" (alias extensions not targeted to work online) to new Business Central on-premises customers, they might have to purchase licenses for two additional modules, the names of which are subject to change. And he noted that beginning in 2023, new non-universal code fees will come into play.

In his blog post, Demiliani wondered why a number of partners are worried about this initiative and offered his opinion on why it should not be an issue. However, several commenters disagreed with his position.

Adding users to your Business Central tenant

On his Business Central Explained blog, Inge Magne Bruvik explained that managing users in Business Central is closely connected to an organization's implementations of Microsoft 365 and Azure Active Directory (AD).

Although you can use Business Central without using Microsoft 365, Bruvik stated that users will have a better experience if their companies are using Microsoft 365 and Business Central together.

To create a new Business Central user we need to start in Azure AD and define our user there. Users can be both internal users and guest users. In this post my focus will be on internal users.

In his blog post, Bruvik then explained step-by-step how to create a new user in Azure AD and how to get the new user into Business Central.

How to change primary key in Business Central table

On the Amol Business Central & NAV Blog, Amol Salvi stated that recently one of his customers asked him to add few more fields on primary key.
