Creating and managing videos on MSDW: FAQ for partners
This guide is for representatives of vendor organizations who are responsible for managing video content on MSDynamicsWorld (MSDW). It will cover creating and managing your content on MSDW with the tools we provide, and the reporting capabilities related to video performance.
The Vendor Portal
All creation of new videos and management of existing videos is done through the vendor portal. A link to the vendor portal is available on the MSDW home page, or you can reach it at https://msdynamicsworld.com/vendor-portal/video.
The vendor portal has two components for managing videos:
- Video Leads – a page with a report on video performance and, if your organization is participating in the video lead generation program, a downloadable lead report.
- Manage Your Videos – a page where you can create new videos and edit or unpublish existing videos.
Creating new videos
Click on the "Create Video" button to go to the form for adding a new video node to MSDW. You must supply the following details:
- A video file –
- MP4 format, less than 500MB
- We use Amazon S3 for the initial video upload management, so your upload speed experience should be comparable with industry standards.
- The progress bar gives a good indication of the the remaining time, but expect additional time after the progress bar is at 100% for the upload to finalize.
- When the upload is complete, the progress bar disappears and the file name replaces it. Also, the "Submit" button becomes enabled.
- Title
- Summary – The summary should be one or more paragraphs. It can contain links. It will appear below the video to users.
- Categories – there are four categories available to you. Select specific terms relevant to your video. If all terms in one category are applicable (e.g., your video is relevant to all industries), leave the list empty.
- Override Thumbnail – This will allow you to set a specific thumbnail shown in list views on the site. We recommend you leave this blank unless you have a specific image ready to share, like a slide screenshot. It can be updated after the video is published.
Uploading multiple videos
Open the "Create Video" link in multiple browser tabs to add more than one video.
Video approval and publishing
There is a period of time between submitting a video and its publication, which should always be less than 24 hours. This process involves both the technical processing and our review of the content to ensure it hsa been created to the proper standards.
