FieldOne for End-to-End Customer Service Now Generally Available
Microsoft announced at the end of last week that FieldOne from Microsoft is now generally available, and can be installed directly within Office 365. The announcement comes just four months after Microsoft acquired FieldOne Systems in July, with a goal of adding advanced field services to Dynamics CRM.
FieldOne is a decade-old company which, just four years ago, developed a new product based on Dynamics CRM as a platform. They launched it to the market about two years ago and were named a Microsoft Dynamics Global ISV in March 2015.
As Microsoft Program Director Param Kahlon told MSDynamicsWorld in July, "The knowledge that the FieldOne team brings to the table is that [their product] is built on the CRM platform and that they have proven its success at very large, complex service organizations. We consider some of those customers strategic to Microsoft - some of the largest customers in our landscape."
Indeed, the FieldOne customer base is a star chamber of energy, utilities, telecoms and security companies, including:
- CLEAResult
- Guardian Alarms
- FPL FiberNet
- Mitsubishi-Hitachi Powersystems
- UTC Building & Industrial Systems
The investment in field services technology by the CRM team is part of its effort to round out the end-to-end service offerings of Dynamics CRM, said Kahlon. That includes the Parature investment for online service and knowledge management and Social Engagement for monitoring and managing social channels.
