Microsoft Looking for Improved Sentiment on V2 of Connector for Dynamics ERP and CRM
When it comes to the Connector for Microsoft Dynamics, it's been said by field professionals that people either hate it or they don't like it all that much. But with V2, released in December, Microsoft is hoping to resolve many of the past complaints and win back some of the Dynamics integration cred that is now held by third party solutions.
The Connector for Microsoft Dynamics is an integration solution targeted specifically at the Microsoft Dynamics CRM and ERP products. The new V2 release provides an out of the box integration between Dynamics CRM - either in the cloud (a major improvement) and on premise - and the Dynamics ERP solutions. One main purpose of the Connector is to integrate sales activity to and from the ERP application to help better forecast and manage a company financials.
If you talk to people who have worked with earlier releases of the Connector, you will be hard pressed to find much positive feedback as a real world solution.
For example, Brent Fisher, Practice Manager for NAV at Tribridge, said his company has had issues with the Connector in the past and as a result just couldn't use it.
"We have a large CRM team a large GP and NAV practice and we've tried it in a few clients but we still tended to go with Scribe," said Brent Fisher, Practice Manager-NAV at Tribridge. "The CRM Connector was positioned to us by Microsoft as if it could be utilized with every ERP product-so they've built this front end for CRM and then they have different integrations that map to GP, NAV, or AX."
