AXMentor, Microsoft plan Dynamics 365 event on verticals, licensing, upgrades

Many Microsoft Dynamics AX customers are still playing catch-up with the introduction of Dynamics 365 for Operations and its surrounding tools and technology. AX partners face a dual challenge of mastering the new software while helping bring their clients up to speed.

Amir Khoshniyati"What we've seen is a big shift as of last year with the ecosystem, with the Dynamics stack," says Amir Khoshniyati, marketing and sales manager at Microsoft partner AXMentor. "From early 2016, everything was mobile-first, cloud-first. And the discussions were around AX 7 and what that was going to entail and how people should get ready for that. But as soon as people started to prep for AX 7, we had another market changer and that was Dynamics 365. As a result, everybody was left hanging."

Although Microsoft has been doing a good job informing people about the modules included in Dynamics 365 as well as what's coming up in the short term, the company hasn't really offered a "deep dive" into any of these products, he says.

So AXMentor planned a new two-day event it calls Evolve: The Journey to Dynamics 365. The company is working with Microsoft and bills Evolve as "A town-hall meeting on everything Dynamics 365." Evolve will focus on the Microsoft Dynamics 365 enterprise app (formerly CRM Online and AX 7) roadmaps and functionality, as well as help companies determine the right transition paths for their Dynamics investments. Evolve will be held on March 1-2 at the Microsoft Technology Center in Irvine, Calif.
