Microsoft Power Platform helps users to analyze data, automate processes, and build solutions that can digitally transform their business. To help users get the best out of Power Platform, Microsoft keeps on rolling out new updates twice a year in the form of Release Wave 1 and Release Wave 2. And with only a couple of months for complete rollout of 2021 Release Wave 2 (October 2021 – March 2022), let us revisit some of these updates released by Microsoft.

1. Power Platform Security Framework Updates

Traditionally, users were tightly coupled with a Power Platform environment's business unit, i.e. you need to choose the business unit to which a user belongs. And a user can only belong to a single business unit. Also, the records owned by a user were automatically part of the BU to which the user belonged. With the latest 2021 Power Platform release wave 2 updates, it is now possible to decouple the business unit from the owner of the record. Get a detailed guide of the same in this blog.

2. Dataverse Search in Dynamics 365 CRM

Renaming the Relevance Search from the past release, Dataverse search delivers fast and comprehensive search results across multiple tables in a single list, sorted by relevance. Using Dataverse search, you will be able to find what you are looking for quickly. You can also use simple Boolean operators to craft queries for searching.
