Serenic's New User Interface for Microsoft Dynamics NAV Reinforces Attractions of NAV Market

A Canadian ISV says it's improved on Microsoft Dynamics NAV's technology and functionality by coming up with a new user interface targeted at nonprofit and nongovernmental organizations.

The announcement by Serenic Corp. underscores new data suggesting that Microsoft Dynamics NAV may well have a wider market presence than many ERP experts realized.
Serenic Corp. announced the release of Serenic Navigator 2009, which it said features "a new user interface and greatly enhanced user experience."

Serenic Navigator 2009 simplifies access to information, improves organizational agility, streamlines integration with a variety of applications, and enhances reporting, the company says.

The opportunities for ISVs working with Dynamics NAV may be more extensive than previously appreciated. A consultant who attended the recent Directions 2009 in Europe, Alex Chow of APCommerce, reports that Microsoft officials released this market data about Dynamics NAV:

* 40% of all Microsoft ERP sales are Dynamics NAV.

* There are now 1,350,000+ registered users for Dynamics NAV.

* There are 76,000+ Dynamics NAV (Navision) customer implementations worldwide.

These numbers indicate that no other mid-market ERP has such a large user and installed base. One commentator on Alex Chow's blog acknowledged the unspoken fear occasionally expressed by Dynamics NAV consultants: "40% of all Microsoft's ERP sales is Navision. That's not surprising, but it's great news, and it really shows what a lot of us knew already. Navision is here to stay."
