Samsung and Microsoft announced a new collaboration, teaming up in a bid at digital transformation for real estate development and property management.

The partnership will involve leveraging Azure IoT with Samsung's SmartThings platform and smart devices, focusing on areas like equipment maintenance, building operations, asset performance and energy performance—particularly for commercial, residential and hospitality buildings. Dynamics 365 Field Service and Azure Digital Twins will play a role, with data aggregated into dashboards for building managers.

The initiative extends to Samsung mobile devices such as the XCover Pro mobile phone and Samsung is offering mobile development tools for developers. National University of Singapore is the chosen pilot for many of these solutions, as part of an effort to upgrade its campus.
