NewsGator Adds Integration of Activity Streams for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 in Social Sites 2010

NewsGator, a major player in social applications for the enterprise, announced at this week's Microsoft SharePoint Conference 2011 a new partnership with Microsoft that will add integration of Microsoft Dynamics CRM activity streams into its NewsGator Social Sites 2010.

Social Sites 2010 already integrates with Microsoft SharePoint 2010 with features for community-building, micro-blogging, cross-department communication, dashboards, and activity streams.  The Social Site activity stream centralizes events and content generated in an organization.  With integration to Dynamics CRM 2010, Social Sites now includes updates on sales opportunities, leads, campaigns, events, or contracts. It will extract salient information from the sales, marketing, and support organizations - including insights drawn directly from customer interactions - and funnel it into the larger enterprise. NewsGator already integrates with Microsoft enterprise products including SharePoint, Windows Phone 7, and Office 365.

Activity streams from Dynamics CRM are nothing new at this point.  Following Salesforce's release Chatter, Dynamics CRM-focused vendors Sonoma Partners and Neudesic moved quickly to release their Vibe and Pulse products, respectively.   While Vibe is primarily a Dynamics CRM-driven application from the Dynamics CRM specialists at Sonoma Partners, Pulse is a much closer competitor to the likes of NewsGator since Pulse enables not only the aggregation of Dynamics CRM activities, but virtually any other enterprise system.  Pulse positions itself as a standalone hub that supports microblogging and integrates with Microsoft Dynamics CRM, but has been built with the intent of bringing more awareness to an enterprise's people through the systems that drive its business.

And with the upcoming Q4 2011 update of Dynamics CRM 2011,
