Microsoft MVP Mark Brummel has a new book that aims to clarify how the worlds of functional and technical design in Dynamics NAV 2013 must be made to work together for the creation of successful solutions.

Unlike a pure development book, Brummel has targeted the newly published Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 Application Design at both functional consultants and technical developers.

Since developers have access to the complete source code of Dynamics NAV, Brummel believes it is important for them to understand not only the syntax, but also the design of the application. Wrongly customized systems could break the application quite easily.

One area of focus of the new book is design patterns, a topic on which Brummel has been a leader over the last few years through his founding role in the Partner Ready Software initiative.  The book describes dozens of these patterns and explains exactly how data is moved around in the system and why.

The book also describes the most commonly used application areas such as finance, relationship management, sales and purchasing, warehousing, and jobs.
