Microsoft announced a wave of updates to its business solutions, and feedback from MVPs and others in the ecosystem indicates that the planned updates will reach further than many expected.

The hefty release notes around this spring 2018 updates provide one measure of the substance of the changes coming. And the public information around these updates has already grown well beyond the top-line updates from top managers like James Phillips and Power BI general manager Arun Ulag.

Of all the updates that touch the traditional Dynamics 365/CRM space, the one with potentially the most impact is the plan to transition xRM from its trusted place within the CRM architecture to a more robust and centralized position in the service of model-driven application development

xRM proponents around the world sat up and took notice when Microsoft revealed that the Dynamics community's favorite app-building platform has been reborn, apart from Dynamics but still within view.
