Microsoft Plans CRM Connector for Dynamics AX, New Release of AX for Retail

Microsoft Dynamics AX will offer a connector with Dynamics CRM before the end of this year, and a new release of AX for Retail.

The discussion about the connector linking Dynamics AX with CRM, long on the wish list of many AX users, occurred at the AX User Group Summit 2010. According to Pepijn Richter, a Microsoft product marketing manager, the connector "supports about ten business scenarios...It will give you a bi-directional interface, with AX being in the lead." It will support CRM on premises and CRM online, he noted.

Until now, a number of partners have offered their own customized solutions for connecting Dynamics AX with CRM. Dynamics AX also has its own limited built-in version of CRM.
