Microsoft is piloting a new way for Dynamics 365 Business Central customers to host their ERP data in an Azure Data Lake for data warehouse and analytics needs.

“Our solution opens up some interesting possibilities for organizations using Business Central,” wrote Microsoft’s Soumya Dutta and Henri Schulte. Their proof of concept is available here

The solution is based on a Business Central extension that provides configurable ways to incrementally push data inserts, updates, and deletions into an Azure data lake with an Azure Synapse pipeline that reconstructs the data from the increments in the data lake in the Common Data Model format.
