Microsoft Launches Dynamics NAV 2016, Boosting Power BI, CRM, E-Services Integration
Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2016 hit general availability today, featuring new user interfaces for mobility, improved Power BI and Dynamics CRM integration, new cloud service integration, and new Azure compatibility.
"With Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2016, we are delivering what SMBs need with a business solution that is quick to deploy, easy to use, and has the power to support the growth ambitions of SMBs worldwide," wrote Microsoft marketing executive Wayne Morris in a blog post announcing the release today.
The headline capabilities of NAV 2016 as it has been released largely match up with updates and previews provided in recent months, including:
- New native apps for all form factors of devices - phones, tablets, and mouse and keyboard - running Android, iOS, or Windows.
- Pre-built Microsoft Power BI dashboards and data connections
- Native integration with Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online
- A new option to deploy Microsoft Dynamics NAV on Microsoft Azure SQL Database,
- Expanded document management, workflow, and Optical Character Recognition (OCR)
- Expanded extensibility and connectivity capabilities to enable tight integration between Microsoft Dynamics NAV and other cloud-based services. This has previously been described as "e-Everything" or "e-Services" capabilities with examples like electronic invoicing and exchange rate lookup.
