Microsoft Forms Pro now in public preview

Microsoft has launched its public preview of Forms Pro, the enterprise-grade version of its existing Forms service that they revealed in February.

The service captures and analyzes feedback, with the data stored in Microsoft's Common Data Service, part of its Power Platform, and is then accessible to Dynamics 365, Power BI, and other systems.

In announcing the preview, principal group program manager Welly Lee identified three strengths of the Pro offering: easy distribution, simple integration to other Microsoft services, and pre-built analytics provided on the results of surveys.

As a demo video shows, the form design process is much like standard Microsoft Forms. A form can be shared via email to individuals or distribution lists, embedded, or launched dynamically via a Flow to based on activities in other systems like concluding a customer case.

On the back end, the results are stored in the company's Common Data Service instance for use in the context of other applications – ideally those that also manage customer data. And, as the demo video shows, Forms Pro does its own analysis of results, including sentiment analysis and detection of correlations between responses.
