Microsoft will be launching Forms Pro, an enterprise-grade version of its existing Forms service, as a preview in the spring 2019 timeframe. The new version will support better governance and alignment with Microsoft business applications.

Microsoft corporate vice president Alysa Taylor noted the upcoming preview in a blog post today announcing a range of new business applications. She wrote:

We continually add new capabilities to bring data insights to life, such as the new Microsoft Forms Pro, that will be available in public preview this spring. This enterprise survey tool makes it easy for organizations to collect feedback across customer touchpoints using surveys, quizzes, and polls, correlate the feedback with business transactions, and derive actionable insights from the combined data. Additional details are available via the Microsoft Forms Pro preview.

And Forms Pro is on the Microsoft 365 roadmap with the following description:

Forms Pro is a simple, yet comprehensive enterprise survey solution for businesses to capture and analyze feedback to improve how they engage across their business. With Forms Pro, you can get actionable feedback from customers in real-time at every stage of their journey, improve organizational health with real-time feedback, build the products customers want, and leverage the data and tools you already use from Dynamics 365, Common Data Services (CDS) and Power Platform. Forms Pro will adhere to the compliance, security, and privacy levels you’ve come to expect from Forms and other Office 365 apps. Companies can collect information without users having to go to non-secure solutions, and there isn’t a need to build and maintain custom surveying tools.

Forms Pro seems set to embark on a path that is parallel to -- but also much broader than --  Dynamics 365 Voice of the Customer, which comes with  D365 for Customer Engagement (CRM) apps. Voice of the Customer can be used to send surveys to contacts and store the results in the context of their other records and activities in D365. VoC has undergone steady incremental updates in 2019 with improvements like translation support, GDPR support, removing restriction on volume, more advanced surveying capabilities, and improved management tools.

Forms Pro could also give Microsoft an answer, in some small part, to SAP's $8 billion acquisition of Qualtrics in November 2018 and their embrace of the experience management segment by, in SAP's words, "combining experience data and operational data to power the experience economy."
