Microsoft announced that it is expanding its commitment to German customers, inaugurating new services in its data centers in the country.

New data center regions in Frankfurt and Berlin first launched in August 2019, and experienced rapid uptake by customers. Power Apps, Power Automate and Power BI are available in the German data center regions along with migration options for German customers with data at rest in Microsoft Cloud Deutschland or Microsoft Cloud in Europe.

Envisioned to help with regulatory compliance and data residency needs, Microsoft's German data centers also have other updates planned. For example, Availability Zones is set to come on-line in the Germany West-Central region in January 2021, while German cloud support becomes available for Microsoft 365 Multi-Geo customers on October 1 of this year.
