Microsoft enhances Dynamics 365 data integration in latest Common Data Service update
Microsoft has updated its Dynamics 365 Data Integration feature, first rolled out in July. The data integrator enables data to flow between Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations, Enterprise edition, and other products through the Common Data Service (CDS).
The most recent updates include new CDS usage templates related to the prospect-to-cash solution. Users can now synchronize accounts directly from Dynamics 365 for Sales to customers in Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations, Enterprise edition. Other prospect-to-cash templates available with the Data integration feature allow data about contacts, products, sales quotations, sales orders, and sales invoices to flow between Finance and Operations and Sales.
CDS also has a new admin dashboard for monitoring integration projects. It shows all the recent project runs with execution status and a drill-down to see all executions. The dashboard offers users a one-stop real-time view of all their project runs and their statuses with a drill-down to view details of executions.
And the CDS team has added support for more regions. In addition to North America and Europe, the Data Integration feature is now available in Australia and Canada. Microsoft is targeting Southeast Asia before the end of the year.
Another update in the works is a set of additional templates for Dynamics 365 for Project Service Automation to Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations integration.
