glpPostAccount: Error occurred NULL parameter

Writing on The Dynamics GP Geek Blog , Beat Bucher stated that "Error occurred NULL parameter" is a common error message you might get in Dynamics GP when you try to post a general ledger batch in financial.

The full message actually starts with “The Stored procedure glpPostBatch returned the following results: DBMS: 0, Microsoft Dynamics GP: 20052”

The real problem is that message doesn't mean anything, because it doesn't provide any information about what the real issue might be.

He explained what the issue would likely be most of the time as reported by other users in community forums and what the simple fix would be. However, he noted that no matter what, when he tried the simple fix it didn't work for him.

Finally, Bucher explained the steps he took to figure out a solution to his problem.
