No code solution for filtering a subgrid based on the lookup

On the HIMBAP blog, Mahender Pal said that there is a common requirement to filter a subgrid based on the lookup field. However, there isn't an easy way to implement it without writing code.

In his post, Pal discussed a quick workaround to implement this requirement.

The requirement is that you want to show the marketing list for accounts in the contact form, based on the account lookup. You can implement this requirement with the help of the quick view form, using certain steps, he said.

The first thing you have to do is open the default solution and add the account and contact entity to your custom solution. You can find out what else you need to do here.

On Aric Levin's Dynamics 365 blog, Levin said that when you're displaying entity lists on a web page, there is typically a default column in a view that is displayed as a hyperlink.

The link to the page is displayed based on the web page for the details view as well as the ID query string parameter name attributes on the entity list form, according to Levin.
