Handling label files in a D365FSC UDE instance
Writing on his blog, Alex Meyer stated that following up on some earlier posts about Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management UDE development instances, he wanted to share a recent issue he encountered with label files and how he went about resolving it.
Meyer wrote that he was working on installing the D365 F&O admin toolkit into his UDE instance. After setting up the project properly, building it successfully, syncing the database, and publishing the solution, Meyer stated that he noticed a problem: the label files did not seem to be deploying as expected.
Meyer noted that he first assumed he had simply forgotten to build the label files. However, after reviewing the model build, he confirmed through the CompileLabels.xml log file that the build process was indeed attempting to compile the labels, but none were actually being found. He wrote that what made this even more puzzling was that Visual Studio was able to locate the label files without any issue, and they appeared correctly in the Application Explorer.
In his blog post, Meyer described the troubleshooting steps he took to determine the issue as well as possible fixes.
