MetaViewer Paperless Document Management for Dynamics AX 2012     

Metafile Information Systems has integrated MetaViewer paperless document management solution with Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 to give companies more visibility and insight into accounts payable and accounts receivable (AP/AR) processes.

The integration with Dynamics AX 2012 enables the MetaViewer Invoice Accelerator to capture information from electronic documents before they become paper - extracting text from emails, invoices sent as PDF attachments, network folders and FTP servers, according to company officials. 

MetaViewer also captures details from paper-based invoices by interacting with scanners, multifunctional copier systems and fax servers and applies its built-in optical character recognition (OCR) technology to interpret the scanned page, official said. After capturing a document, MetaViewer communicates directly with Dynamics AX 2012 to confirm the extracted data, add appropriate general ledger coding and pull down other details of the transaction that will be displayed with the invoice data, according to officials.  Approvers then verify the data through internet-based workflows set up in MetaViewer and once the documents are reviewed and approved, the transactional data is handed off to Dynamics AX 2012 to complete the payment of the transaction, officials said. Then, as documents and transactions are updated and completed in Dynamics AX 2012, updates are sent to MetaViewer to ensure all systems are in sync, according to officials.
