The native integration between Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and Dynamics 365 Field Service has reached GA, Microsoft announced at Directions North America 2024. And the product team plans to integrate more entities between the systems later in 2024.
The goal of the integration is to synchronize business data and eliminate custom integration costs, Microsoft GM for Dynamics 365 Frontline Apps Hector Garcia Tellado told the Directions North America audience this week.
The integration has been partner-validated, Garcia Tellado said, with input from partners and customers on both the Field Service and Business Central sides. Partners at the event also noted that this integration has long been a request of Microsoft sellers eager to offer a combined solution.
The integration in its current form works with Projects in Business Central. Some of the key capabilities include integration of work execution status, service tasks, inventory levels, and rapid scheduling and work execution. Microsoft demonstrated that a journal posted in BC can update the view in Field Service of how many hours of a project have been consumed and how many have been invoiced. The invoice can also be accessed from Field Service.
