Power Automate find records action demystified
On his blog, Stefano Demiliani wrote that when people use the "find records" action in Power Automate or Azure Logic Apps for Business Central, they often misuse it, causing confusion.
He noted that this action always returns a list of matching records, even if there’s only one. He pointed out that to use it effectively, you have to know how to write OData queries to set filters.
However, Demiliani stated that this action has a key limitation that can add to the confusion. To demonstrate this, he built a simple extension that generates 20,100 records in a custom table to explore how it works. In his demo extension, Demiliani also published an API on top of this custom table.
In his blog post, Demiliani explained what happens if he calls the API by sending a GET request to retrieve all records. He also explained what happens when you use the find records action in a Power Automate or Logic Apps flow.
Word template mail merge in Business Central: What is it?
Writing on his blog, Ian Grieve stated that mail merge in D365BC is a newer feature that was added in 2021. He wrote that it lets you connect Microsoft Word with D365BC data, which is helpful for certain tasks, such as sending letters to a number of people about an address change or creating mailing labels for customers.
