On his blog, Stefano Demiliani stated that in the past three years, he has often written about the need for an easy way to delete large amounts of data in SaaS systems, especially the importance of giving developers access to the SQL TRUNCATE command.

Demiliani noted that truncate is coming to Business Central version 27. He wrote that the new AL method Rec.Truncate, connected to the Record API, will let developers quickly delete table rows that match their filters, making the process faster and more efficient in D365BC.

In his blog post, Demiliani explained what the AL method Rec.Truncate can do, how it works, as well as its limitations.
