Microsoft Data Platform Group CVP Quentin Clark rumored to be joining MBS
Kirill Tatarinov's Microsoft Business Solutions (MBS) management team could be adding a new veteran Microsoft manager as one result of a rumored Cloud & Enterprise (C&E) reshuffle said to be in the works by new C&E executive vice president Scott Guthrie.
ZDNet reports an unconfirmed rumor that Quentin Clark, corporate vice president for Microsoft's Data Platform Group, will join MBS, reporting to Tatarinov. The information reportedly comes from a single source.
Judging by his LinkedIn profile, which is probably a little out of date, Clark has worked extensively on the technical side of the SQL Server team, leading engineers as well as managing product direction. He was previously a general manager in the Database Systems Group with engineering and workload leadership responsibilities.
In a recent interview, where he described himself as CVP for the Data Platform Group, Clark spoke at length about the range of moving pieces that fall under his team's reach. His vision for harnessing the power of structured and unstructured data and the evolution of business intelligence and Big Data technology suggest that Clark could bring a unique BI and analytics voice that some feel is missing at the highest level in the Dynamics management team - if he is in fact joining it.
