Microsoft 365 Copilot adds tools to let users build apps, flows, and agents
Microsoft is introducing new authoring tools into M365 Copilot to allow users to build workflows, applications, and agents.
App Builder, Workflows agent, and a “lightweight Copilot Studio experience” are all becoming available to M365 Copilot customers in the Frontier program, which gives customers access to the latest agents and features.
Microsoft president of Business & Industry Copilot Charles Lamanna explained in a blog post:
Using these agents [App Builder and Workflows] and Copilot Studio, Copilot now enables employees to turn ideas into impact by creating apps, workflows, and agents—just as easily as having a conversation. Describe what you need in natural language, and Copilot helps you build it. And because the outputs are integrated with your Copilot experience, they’re secure, governed, and connected to your Microsoft 365 data.
Users can add App Builder and Workflows from the Agent Store.
In September, Microsoft added access to its Sales, Service, Finance role-based AI solutions as part of M365 Copilot for all customers.
App Builder allows M365 Copilot users to quickly create and deploy custom apps related to their work, and there is no technical setup required. Any data created through apps is stored in Microsoft Lists. And Microsoft notes that the experience is grounded in the customer’s Microsoft 365 content, including documents, presentations, spreadsheets, and notes.
