Lumen and Microsoft expand relationship with custom network deployment and Azure investments

Microsoft and telecommunications firm Lumen announced updated partnership plans that will see the deployment of new custom network infrastructure for Microsoft and new cloud and AI investments by Lumen.

Microsoft will be using Lumen’s Private Connectivity Fabric, a custom network that includes dedicated access to existing fiber in the Lumen network, the installation of new fiber on existing and new routes, and the use of Lumen’s new digital services, according to a statement. This investment will improve connectivity between Microsoft data centers.
