Microsoft and South Korea-based SK Telecom signed a memorandum of understanding to cooperate on bringing 5G, AI and cloud offerings to the market. In addition, the MOU seeks to spur new IoT and media capabilities. The two companies first partnered in February to launch Azure with Metatron, SK Telecom's big data system. Additionally, the Cortana digital assistant is being combined with SK Telecom's NUGU AI offering.

As part of the agreement, SK Telecom is set to implement Microsoft 365, Surface, and Office 365. The company is under the umbrella of the SK Group, which will follow suit in the near future with a similar adoption of new Microsoft systems.
