Jujhar Singh will leave Microsoft Dynamics 365/CRM role as part of organizational realignment
As part of larger organizational changes in Microsoft's cloud business, management of Dynamics solutions will be consolidated under James Phillips, who leads the Business Applications Group within EVP Scott Guthrie's Cloud + Enterprise division.
The change, according to a report from ZDNet, also means that corporate vice president Jujhar Singh, who leads the Dynamics 365 customer engagement apps (formerly Dynamics CRM), will be turning over that role to Phillips in the next two months. A Microsoft spokesperson confirmed these details with MSDW.
James Phillips has had a visible presence in overseeing the Dynamics product line in the last two years. It is just one of many related product areas Phillips leads; others include Power BI, PowerApps, Flow, and SQL Server Reporting and Analysis Services. Dynamics 365 GM Sri Srinivasan and CTO/Technical Fellow Mike Ehrenberg already report to Phillips.
Singh, who will reportedly stay with the company, joined Microsoft in 2012 as part of the leadership team of Bob Stutz, who had been hired to run Dynamics CRM. Singh has led the Dynamics CRM team since November 2015. He has been widely considered a skilled manager of the product line, adding features, OEM agreements, and modules at a rapid pace. But he has also been regarded as enterprise-focused, and if there has been any weakness in the product during Singh's leadership, it has been the seemingly slow rate of progress on the SMB Dynamics 365 sales and marketing apps.
