Though it is still months away, Microsoft has started sharing some details of its plans to enhance the campaign management capabilities of MarketingPilot in the Mira release for Dynamics CRM Online, estimated for Q1 of 2014.

The tweet above comes out of information shared at Convergence 2013 EMEA, and it mirrors information presented at the recent CRMUG Summit in Tampa (at a session where photography was not permitted).

According to Dynamics CRM product marketing director Jamie Fiorda, who spoke at the CRMUG event, MarketingPilot will get an updated browser-based campaign management designer with a drag and drop interface. A user can  select an audience, drag and drop it into the campaign interface, and also pull in specific marketing campaign actions like emails, phone calls, social campaigns. Actions in a campaign will be configurable with contextual options such as selecting existing email templates, viewing past campaign performance, and assigning costs.

As a campaign is built out, it can be branched for different conditions. And each step includes checklists for the actions taken by the system, measurement of the performance.
