How We’re Using Microsoft Dynamics: AX 2012 R2 motoring across a company in three phases

Eckler sells engine parts and accessories, among other products

For more than 50 years, Eckler Industries of Titusville, Fla., has been supplying automotive restoration and performance products and accessories to customers around the globe. Considered a pioneer in classic cars restoration, the company catalogues and sells more than 150,000 products, including OEM and officially licensed restoration parts from companies like GM and Ford.

This year, Eckler Industries' sales and marketing department is implementing Dynamics AX 2012 R2 CU7. When this first phase of a larger ERP implementation is in completed, the firm's sales, marketing, product management, and call center departments will be up and running on the system.

New to the Dynamics software family, Donna Perin, director of application development, says the company selected the application based on the fact that it was a "good fit for the future of the organization - with new employees usually knowing Microsoft products."  

Perin adds that while the implementation has gone well thus far, one of Eckler Industries' key challenges lies in the fact that the company's operations are centered on catalogues, website sales, call center contacts, and a retail showroom. Pulling all of these critical pieces under a single umbrella isn't easy. "Since we are still implementing," she notes, "we are overcoming those issues as they [surface]."
