Hal Howard, formerly Microsoft's corporate vice president of Dynamics ERP R&D, has further expanded his work in the Dynamics ecosystem with a new role as Chief Technology Advisor for Hitachi Solutions America.

Alert Microsoft channel pro Luciano Cunha spotted the earliest mention of the news several days ago, buried in an SAP news item.

"As many industry analysts and leading software executives can attest, Hal has been immensely successful designing Microsoft Dynamics AX solutions. I believe Hal's wealth of knowledge, passion for innovation and expertise will sharpen the competitive edge we bring to the market and to our customers," said Mike Gillis, president and chief operating officer, Hitachi Solutions America in a statement.

Howard's new advisory role means he "will collaborate with the global team to lead strategic initiatives to develop innovative and differentiated business solutions," according to the statement.

Howard departed Microsoft in mid-2014. Later in the year he took on a part time role with Dynamic Communities, the company that runs AXUG, GPUG, NAVUG, CRMUG, and Dynamics Partner Connections, as executive director
