Do We Need an App Store for Microsoft Dynamics GP?

August 24 2011

I think that we need an App Store for Microsoft Dynamics GP. The Dynamics GP community has a pile of independent software vendor solutions that don't get enough exposure. Now, do I think that companies are going to flock to a Dynamics GP app store and plop down five grand on their corporate Amex card to download and install an ISV solution for Dynamics GP at lunch?

Hi Mark, You are correct that Pinpoint is pretty new, but there's something even newer -- Dynamics Marketplace ( is a filtered view of Pinpoint, which only includes Dynamics products. Pinpoint contains ALL Microsoft products (SQL Server, Windows, etc) -- Marketplace is only AX, CRM, GP, NAV and SL. I suspect you won't be an over-night fan, though snce you are asking for ALL GP solutoins. To be listed in Marketplace, the partner solutions need to have passed the software solutions test (a compatibility test with the Dynamics product), so you won't get "the good, the bad, and the ugly" that you are looking for. Marketplace also has the same imperfections you mention with Pinpoint (few reviews, and data quality issues), but it's there and it's getting better all the time. Keep up the good work! Brian
