Cloud Connector Solution To Focus on Migration To Microsoft Dynamics CRM From Salesforce and Others

Companies facing the challenge of switching CRM applications have a new cloud migration tool to help them move their data between applications such as Salesforce and Microsoft Dynamics CRM.

The new Cloud Connector tool from Sparxent enables companies to move, share and manage data between business applications across various environments including on-premise, cloud-based applications and hosted environments, according to Paul Richards, Principal consultant at Sparxent subsidiary Xaware Inc. in Colorado Springs. The Cloud Connector is implemented using the connectivity in the XAware Data Integration software package, he said.

Companies switch CRM applications for a number of reasons including mergers and acquisitions, the need to save money, and because they need different functionality, he said. Although customers could move away from Dynamics CRM to another product, Richards said the company is focusing on customers that are moving from other products like Salesforce to Microsoft Dynamics CRM.

"But it doesn't have to be Salesforce on the other end or even Microsoft Dynamics on the other end point. We could take information from NetSuite or put information into NetSuite or any product that has a web services access or an API," he said. "Our product is a little more open ended and generic, so we can migrate from almost any data source to any other data source. It's a standards-based, XML-based implementation often using web services. What we looked for in this approach to migrating to Microsoft Dynamics was using their web services interface so that we could migrate using their API directly for getting the data from any data source."
