Dynamics User Group (DUG) bolsters leadership, plans new offerings
Dynamics User Group (DUG), one of the oldest community institutions in the Microsoft Dynamics ecosystem, is adding two new members to its leadership team and restructuring as a US-based non-profit entity.
Erik Ernst, a longtime Dynamics NAV MVP, has been running DUG independently for twenty one years. He has brought on two new partners, Jacob Roder and Jonathan Stypula. They will help to manage the community and also to plan expanded activities in areas like training, job listings, webcasts, and in-person meetings.
In a new community announcement, Ernst explained that DUG will be adding offerings "that supplement the existing online presence." He also wrote that maintaining transparency is a priority through the transition, which is why DUG will become a non-profit:
"As part of this change, and to ensure that DUG has the community's best interests at heart and provides fiscal transparency, DUG will begin the process of transitioning to a US-based non-profit organization in the next few months. Although 100% free to users since the beginning, being open about financial information and honest about its role as an educationally-focused community is extremely important to DUG, as we understand it's extremely important to our fellow Dynamics users."
Roder and Stypula are Dynamics AX consulting veterans who also work for the consultancy Dynamic Consulting. Dynamic Consulting is not affiliated with DUG and their work in the two places will be "completely silo'd", Stypula told us.
